Suzanne Collier is an Expert on Careers within Book Publishing. For over 24 years Suzanne Collier has been actively working in book publishing, and has at one time or another worked in every department - Production, Editorial, Sales & Marketing, Publicity, Rights, Contracts, Accounts (including Royalty Accounting), which has given her an understanding and insight into many roles. Suzanne has also performed a number of confidential consultancy assignments for small independent publishers. She regularly lectures on Careers Within Book Publishing and How to Sell & Market Books with No Budget and has had articles published on career issues within the industry.
As well as having her own bookcareer, Suzanne has been giving careers advice on book publishing since 1989, and for many years ran Bookcareers.com whilst holding down a full time job within the industry. Suzanne still actively works within the industry and knows only too well, that when a decision is made within a company, for whatever reason, its implications on those that work there can be far reaching. Having over the years gone through several career challenges herself Suzanne takes pride in helping those who are within the industry - whatever the challenge or task - in realigning their career - for whatever reason. If it's redundancy, long term unemployment, returning to work, workplace bullying, stress, being fired, returning after long term sick leave, going freelance, setting up your own business, starting your own publishing company, then Suzanne is the best person to speak to. Suzanne has also had a high number of personal achievements - as well as bookcareers she coaches in lifestyle management and personal styling, she has trained in coaching, is a qualified aerobics teacher, was the youngest person ever to Chair the Society of Young Publishers and used to run the Supporters Club for her local football team. Suzanne is Chair of her local Police ward's Safer Neighbourhood Panel, and when she isn't doing one of the things listed, or spending time with friends and family, she is likely to be watching Dagenham & Redbridge FC.
