HOW TO DO A GREAT JOB AND GO HOME ON TIME
Fergus O'Connell
9780 73 704553
Unfortunately a number of people
within the industry are always pressured into working late to meet unmovable
deadlines. If you think going home on time is an unachievable goal then
this book will assist you in stepping back and viewing your job from
a different angle. It teaches you some good ways of negotiating your
workload with your boss (e.g. saying no!). The suggestion to creating
a "dance card" of your tasks and time will help you focus
on what is important within your role. It may also aid you in gaining
extra staff resources if necessary. Remember, you have a life outside
of your job. This book will help you live it.
NICE GIRLS DON'T GET THE CORNER
OFFICE
Lois P Frankel
ISBN 978-0446695770
This title is a little bit misleading, as most of the 'mistakes' that
may be made when playing office politics are frequently done by either
gender. If you are someone who doesn't 'do office politics', or someone
who always seems to draw the short straw when new projects are being
assigned, or you've been overlooked for promotion, you'll learn from
this book how to minimise the damage and stop it happening again. There
are some great tips in here and we have been recommending this to a
high number of our clients.
