bookcareers.com Job Board - Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all vacancies submitted for advertising on the bookcareers.com Job Board.

By submitting a vacancy, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Job advertisements
bookcareers.com provides a job advertising service for employers and organisations recruiting for roles within the book publishing industry and related sectors.
All advertisements are subject to approval by bookcareers.com before publication.
We reserve the right to refuse, amend, suspend or remove an advertisement which we consider unsuitable for the Job Board or which does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Acceptance of payment does not guarantee publication of an advertisement.

2. Suitable vacancies
Vacancies should be relevant to the book publishing industry or closely related sectors.
This may include permanent, temporary, fixed-term, contract, freelance, internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
bookcareers.com does not advertise unpaid roles.
We reserve the right to decide whether a vacancy is appropriate for the Job Board.

3. Information supplied by advertisers
The advertiser is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is accurate, current and not misleading.
The advertiser must have authority to advertise the vacancy and must ensure that the advertisement and recruitment process comply with applicable employment, equality and other relevant legislation.
Advertisements must accurately describe the nature of the role, its employment status and any material requirements or restrictions.

4. Salary and remuneration
All advertisements must include a salary, salary band or, where appropriate, a clearly stated rate of pay.
Salary bands must represent the genuine range available for the position and should not be misleadingly broad.
Freelance, contract and other roles that are not paid by annual salary should state the applicable rate or remuneration.
bookcareers.com reserves the right to request clarification or amendment of salary or remuneration information before approving an advertisement.

5. Location and remote working
Advertisers should provide accurate information about where the role is based.
Where a position is remote, this should be clearly indicated. Any geographical restrictions on remote working, including requirements concerning country of residence or right to work, should be stated in the advertisement.
Where a role requires attendance at a workplace for some or all of the working week, this should be made clear within the advertisement.

6. Applications
Advertisers are responsible for providing a valid method through which candidates can apply for the vacancy.
Applications may be directed to an email address or an external recruitment or application website. bookcareers.com is not responsible for the recruitment process, selection decisions or communications between advertisers and applicants.

7. Equality and discrimination
Advertisements must comply with applicable equality and anti-discrimination legislation.
We reserve the right to reject or request amendments to advertisements containing wording or requirements which may be discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.
Where a particular characteristic is a genuine occupational requirement, the advertiser is responsible for ensuring that the requirement is lawful.

8. Duration of advertisements
Unless otherwise stated, advertisements will remain live on the bookcareers.com Job Board for 30 days.
Advertisers may mark a vacancy as filled before the end of the advertising period.
An advertisement may be removed if the vacancy has closed, been filled or is otherwise no longer available.

9. Editing advertisements
Advertisers may request or submit changes to an advertisement after submission.
Changes to published advertisements may require approval by bookcareers.com before appearing on the Job Board.
We reserve the right to correct obvious formatting, spelling or presentation errors without changing the substantive meaning of an advertisement.

10. Fees and payment
The applicable advertising fee will be shown at the point of purchase or otherwise agreed before the advertisement is submitted.
Payment is required in accordance with the terms of the selected advertising product.
Any promotional or introductory price applies only for the period or circumstances specified in the relevant offer.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment relates to the advertisement submitted and cannot be transferred to another vacancy.

11. Cancellations and refunds
If an advertiser wishes to cancel an advertisement before publication, they should contact bookcareers.com as soon as possible.
Once an advertisement has been published, advertising fees are normally non-refundable.
This does not affect any rights which cannot legally be excluded.
If bookcareers.com decides that an advertisement cannot be accepted, any payment made specifically for that advertisement will be refunded where appropriate.

12. Responsibility for advertisements
The content of a job advertisement is supplied by the advertiser.
bookcareers.com does not independently verify every statement made by an advertiser and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or availability of any vacancy.
Publication of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement of the advertiser, the vacancy, its working practices or its recruitment process by bookcareers.com.
Jobseekers are responsible for carrying out any checks they consider appropriate before applying for or accepting employment.

13. Availability of the Job Board
We aim to keep the Job Board available and operating correctly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may temporarily suspend or alter the service for maintenance, security, technical or operational reasons.
Where reasonably necessary, we may make changes to the operation or features of the Job Board.

14. Misuse of the service
The Job Board must not be used to publish fraudulent, misleading, unlawful or inappropriate advertisements.
Advertisements must relate to genuine opportunities.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove advertisements and restrict access to the service where we reasonably believe the Job Board is being misused.

15. Personal information
Personal information supplied through the Job Board will be handled in accordance with the bookcareers.com Privacy Policy.
Advertisers are responsible for complying with applicable data protection legislation in relation to personal information they receive from applicants.

16. Limitation of responsibility
bookcareers.com provides the Job Board as an advertising platform and is not a party to any employment, freelance, contractual or other relationship arising between an advertiser and an applicant.
To the extent permitted by law, bookcareers.com will not be responsible for losses arising from recruitment decisions, applications, interviews, employment arrangements or other dealings between advertisers and applicants.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
