29/06/2017 - 30/06/2017

£305

An understanding of print is vital for everyone involved in the production of books and this course looks specifically at the production of mono books.

BIC’s courses focus on the practical application of knowledge. During the course you will spend time at in the press-room and bindery, seeing first hand books are produced and learning how to apply this knowledge in your day-to-day role.

This two-day course looks specifically at the challenges in producing mono books, from pre-press through printing, finishing and distribution. It looks at the different technologies available, their pros and cons and how to use them effectively.

All of BIC’s courses are designed in conjunction with a group of Production Directors from leading houses so that they focus on what you need to know. Each course contains a formal assessment recognised by many of the UK’s publishing houses.

The course will provide you with the tools to be proactive in your role, better express your requirements and solve or even prevent problems efficiently. You will learn about:

  • The different print technologies available and how to pick the right one for your book

  • How to chose the right proof for your book
