James Spackman: “Our October Masterclass yielded fascinating insights about three terrific campaigns and ended with a “surgery” session, in which various book marketing and comms peoples’ campaign dilemmas were addressed creatively and supportively. This time around, I’m really excited that our theme is backlist. It’s a massively important area, which doesn’t get enough focus, but in which marketers can have a huge impact. The three campaigns are different, original and excellent, and show the size of the opportunity for publishers.
Join the Book Marketing Society with their latest masterclass, this time focused on backlists.
Speakers and campaigns confirmed include:
Matt Young discussing the algorithmic approach to the Dawkins’ anniversary campaign, which won Best Multi-title campaign at the last BMS Awards
Justine Gold and Rachel Wilkie talking about the I [heart] Atwood campaign (Little, Brown), which combined a new title release with a promotion for Atwood’s backlist
Caroline Maddison and Claire Wilshaw of PRH, reviewing their ingenious #ByBook campaign, which brought together a disparate range of titles under a fresh and playful summer reading promotion
