03/10/2018 @ 15:30 - 17:00

Acceptance of preprints as a scholarly publications format is growing quickly, with deposits to preprint platforms across many different disciplines surging. With this growth comes important policy and process considerations for journal publishers and society meeting and communication staff. This webinar will cover the nuts-and bolts issues related to preprints, answering questions such as

What best practices exist in integrating between preprint servers and peer-reviewed journals?
What can publishers do to ensure accurate and stable linking from preprints to the final published article?
What are appropriate policies related to retractions and posting of new versions of preprints once submitted to a journal?
What should societies be thinking about in terms of preprint policies for meeting abstracts? Should policies for meeting abstracts and journals be congruent?
Are media embargoes relevant in the age of preprints?
How can we resolve misalignment in copyright and reuse licenses between preprints and journal articles?
Participants will gain knowledge that will help them develop specifi and clear preprint policies for their organizations.
Who Should Attend:
