Hi Suzanne,

Thanks so much for organising this course, I've definitely learnt some new things over the last few days!

Thanks again and good luck to everyone job hunting!

Day 5 has been a particularly useful session for me. The idea of a table to make a checklist of the companies I'd like to work for seems so simple and yet (shame on me!) I hadn't already done one! The list of useful links has also made me realise I have not been as methodical as I should be in relation to tracking the industry - another lesson learnt! This 5-day course has made me focus again on making my job search a more professional and streamlined affair and I thank you for that, Suzanne!

Wishing all participants my very best wishes for the future - Keep safe and well!

Thank you so much Suzanne for creating and sharing this course. I was a little dubious signing up because I thought I was already doing so much, but I have learned so much these last five days. I am very grateful.
This course has certainly given me a sense of direction now in my job hunting. Today has been particularly helpful in that aspect. Even though I already followed and tried to keep up to date with plenty of publishers, I think forcing myself to sit down and really prioritise which publishers I loved and why was incredibly useful. I will definitely be spending a lot more time keeping up to date with what publishers are doing, how they're doing it, and the methods they use to communicate that to the public.
It's time for me to really get stuck in and interact with all these people I want to work with and to start making some contacts!
Good luck everyone and stay safe. Hopefully, we'll start bumping into each other soon!

That is brilliant to hear. No matter who I work with they always find there is something they overlook, forgotten or are learning for the first time. Keep refreshing and reviewing what you're doing and you'll get there.

Suzanne wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:00 pm Congratulations! You've made it to Day 5.

There are two worksheets today:-

This one should help organise your thoughts
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mXb ... sp=sharing

And this one is a page of Useful Links
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c6F ... sp=sharing

I will aim to drop in either today or over the weekend and answer as many questions as I can. :undercover:
Thank you so much for organising this course, making it available to all of us and providing us with so many helpful links and advice (and for putting up with all my questions  ).

I feel like all the things I have learned from different sources (career services back at uni, blog posts, word of mouth) have finally congealed into a more ordered format to approach job searching. I'm really glad I took this course, I feel much more confident about job searching :smartass:

I'll use this lockdown to seriously reboot my CV and cover letter in preparation for when jobs will trickle back on the market.

Thanks to everyone who also shared their input on this blog! I really enjoyed reading about your thoughts and solutions - it made me feel less alone and isolated :cute:

Stay safe everyone!
