How we can help

New Research from bookcareers.com

We’ve been conducting research with clients and have discovered that if you work in book publishing, then it is highly likely that your publishing skills have transferred to your pet, in particular your cat or dog.

This theory is currently under trial at present, and our research enabled us to locate a small consultancy called ‘Purr-roofreaders Are Us’ who have been hiring out cats for a variety of editorial services.

We have yet to see any evidence whether it is only publishers, or whether Literary Agents or booksellers also have noticed similar traits.  In conversation with one bookseller they commented their cat ‘showed no interest in books whatsoever’.

Before we expand our services and formally offer career guidance to pets and their pet owners, we’d like further input.  If you’d like to contribute to this research please do, using @bookcareers #bookcareers, and providing a photo of your pet either in the process of reading, proofreading or copyediting.

You can view video evidence of our trials below.

PS: If you haven’t already guessed, this was an April Fool.
